Q9550 Overclocking Help
Guys: Thanks for posting and giving me some help and where to get info on overclocking. Read a lot on it and changed some things over the weekend.
So , I'm starting over so let me list what I have and what I did.
CPU- Q9550
MB- Asus Rampage Formula (775 Socket)
RAM- Corsair Dominator 4GB 1066 MHz PC2-8500C5
Video- BFG GeForce GTX 285 OCFU 1024 GDDR3
PSU- Corsair GDX850w
Cooling- Artic Silver 7 for CPU
Zalman 9700 CPU Cooler
Cooler Master 690 with- 1 CM 120MM front intake fan- 69CFM
2 CM 120MM Side Panel fans- 69 CFM
2 CM 120MM Top Panel Exhaust fans 69 CFM
1 ThermalTake 120MM Rear Exhaust Fan and
1 ThermalTake 120MM Bottom Intake Fan both
manually adjusted from 38.6 to 93.7 CFM
1 Evercool 80x80x15 side panel intake fan for
cooling to back of MB.
Changes made in Bios were: Overclock-Set to Manual
CPU- Set to 8.5
FSB Frequency- Set to 400
PCIE Frequency- 100
CPU Spectrum- Disabled
Vanderpool- Disabled
PCI Clock Synchronizatio- Could not Locate,
unless listed as a
different name.
Everything else left at AUTO.
Since last Friday, ran PRIME 95-Small FFT's for 12 Hours- All Passed.
Large FFT's for 12 Hours- All Passed.
Blend for 12 Hours- Passed.
Temps from REALTEMP and CPUID
Temp Readings 4 Cores- 38/36/36/36 Celsius
VID- 1.1875 from Real Temp/CPUID
VCore Reading- 1.192 from CPUID
Clock Core- From CPUID Core Speed-3400.3 MHz
Multiplier- x8.5
Bus Speed- 400.0 FSB
Rated FSB- 1600.0 MHz
Core Voltage- 1.192 V
Memory-DRAM Frequency 533.4 MHz
FSB DRAM 3:4
Settings 5-5-5-15- 52 Clocks 2T (Recommended by Corsair)
2.10 Volts (Recommended By Corsair)
GPU Core Temps- 43 Celsius from CPUID
Now, the only thing I troubled about is not finding the PCI Clock Synchronization to change, unless either it's not listed or is listed under a different name I don't recognize.
The Settings for the CPU Vcore is set at AUTO. Is the core voltage CPUID listed at 1.192v safe to change from auto and post there, and is there anything else I need to look at at possibly change?
I'm trying my best to get this right before Wednesday, thats when our 2010 season of Sim Racing begins starting at Daytona.
Again, my thanks and appreciation for the help an info!
