If anyone has personal experience with this board I would appreciate your help. I have searched AMD, VIA's, and Asus's site with no explanation.

I did a fresh install of WinME on an Asus A7M266 board. Obviously WinME does not have all the proper drivers so I directed it to the CD that came with the board which contains AMD and VIA's drivers. This board has the AMD 761 Northbridge and the VIA VT82C686B Southbridge. I checked device manager and it looked like everything was installed (no yellow marks) After what I thought was the proper installation I ran 3DMark2001 and got horrific scores. I then did some searchin and found that both AMD and VIA have a "4-in-1" driver exe that is supposed to run and be able to determine what you need based on your mb and chipset. The AMD driver went well and installed an AGP miniport driver. My 3DMark scores went up tremendously. Then I ran the VIA "4-in-1" driver and it said I need to install the "AGP VXD Driver" & "VIA INF Driver 1.20". Hmm? This is what I'm confused about. The VIA Southbridge has nothing to do with the AGP right? That is the AMD. Why and should I let it install the "AGP VXD Driver"?

Anyone with this experience?

Thanks
