I can seem to get an answer on this...so Ill ask here.

I want to disable APIC by disabling it in the BIOS...and then doing a windows (xp pro) installation repair from the CD. Ive read that this will work.

I just want to know if I will have to re-tweak, customize the UI, install my programs...etc.

Any answers appreciated,
TriX

Not sure if the repair will work on the APIC but I do know that you wont have to reinstall all ur programs. It doesnt rewrite the registry it just reinstalls the windows folder and I think the drivers also but not positive on the drivers.

Just an FYI, if you are doing this to try to improve your FSB overclock - I didn't notice any improvement. I'm at 225MHz now, and tried it both with and without APIC enabled.

Not sure whether its related, but the newest 2.0 BIOS indicates a fix to 333MHz CPU FSB overclocks.
