I can get this board for 99 bucks and free shipping and only a 30 day warrenty but the catch is that the board has been refurbished. Is it worth it? Or should i just buy a brand new one for $127 +shipping.

I'd GET a NEW one. Referb could=HEADACHES Brandnew usually has a better warrenty and few headaches. I got one and I love it. The only thing is that I had to buy some new mem cuz it didn't like my cheep stuff.

Clock on

do you really need raid? get the non raid that is retail.

I have 2 20gig HDD running ata 66 7200 rpm

Im not sure if i really need to upgrade though , maybe you can give me some advice. I already ahve the cas 2 crucial ram pc133 in my system and i know it will work with the iwill kk266. Now if i were to upgrade to a 1.333gigahertz cpu and overclock it to 1500 or 1600mhz will their be a big improvment on games from my old 1000 slot a. My motherboard is only running at pc100 speed and ata 66 ,slot a t-bird 1000mhz, agp 2x.

In most things you "should" notice a pretty BIG difference. The raid thing is up to you, with raid(0) you can read/write faster but at the same time your seek times go up because the data is spread across 2 Harddrives, also you can use the raid connectors as non-raid IDE headers, giving you support for up to 8 IDE devices, so if you think you might have lots of IDE devices in the future the raid might be for you. If you game alot make sure you have a GOOD video card, this will give you the most benifit for games, if you use flask, the new CPU will be invaluable!!! Upgrading is always give and take (unless you just have cash to burn), decide what you use the system for the most and put your money there, Goodluck!!! and make sure you buy new, refurb at current pc prices is asking for trouble!

your sandra scores will go up but not much else! you are using a nice machine now and my advice would be to wait a little bit longer and go multi processors! it won't be long and you will also benefit from the ddr mobos that are coming out with dual processors. Are you having any problems with the games or apps you are currently playing? if yes go ahead and upgrade otherwise wait a little bit and go nutz then :)

No im not having any problems but i guess i can wait
lol
