I just bought a PNY Geforce 2 GTS/pro 64 DDR for 250 bucks at a local compusa. Now i have the option to return it and i will soon since i wanted to test the card out anyway. Now if i were to buy a leadtek GTS/PRO 64 DDR would this card outperform my PNY that im running now? Right now i have the card running at 245/453 with no problems in 3dgames or 3dmark 2000.
I think i might just go for the GTS /pro 64 DDR for 170 at newegg.com or the ultra. Thanks for the help

That's a little pricey, but that's compusa for ya.

check here for the best pricing on Leadtek's cards. For what you will pay for the GTS-Pro at compusa, you could get a killer Leadtek Ultra retail (cables, manual, the works), shipped for free, AND save yourself $6.00

How does the voodoo 5 5500 compare to the card i have now? Im not sure if i should just pick up a voodoo 5 5500 for 112 bucks and wait for the geforce 3 to come down in price. I like the card i got now but i hate D3d , glide looks so much better on my voodoo 3 and its smooth

That depends on what games you play most often and what other features you will be requiring of the card. I had a voodoo for a short time, and was pleased with the gaming in UT (actually, it rocked), but it was only fair in other games (though it does support open GL which games like Quake utilize), I have found the Direct 3d with my geforce to work just as well or better than the voodoo, and for future gaming I feel safer with Geforce as voodoo has gone bye-bye (at least for now).

For the price, the voodoo's fair; but for conveniece and the reasons above, I would stay on the geforce or Radeon path.

Also, that Geforce 2 Ultra card forv $242 rips any voodoo card to shreds; next to the geforce 3, there is no card that stands taller.

Pinky with all due respect that Link For the Best price on Leadtek G/F2 Pro didnt have the cheapest prices, Look here instead:
http://www.pricewatch.com/ I have seen the Leadtek 64mb ddr Pro as low as 145-160

umm, you sure??? i entered several diff searches at pricewatch and the cheapest there was $168 plus around 9 shipping which exceeded newegg's 170 shipped. you sure you didn't run across one of leadtek's mx cards instead? a lot of them are confusingly marked "pro" such as the sh pro and dh pro, which are still really mx cards. or perhaps you confused this card with the 32 meg version? if niether of these is the case, please post the link and share the great deals with us.

Thanks for the coverage... newegg is cheap, pricewatch is cheap, but most of them get you with shipping charges.

Oh yeah, and newegg sells retail boxes, unopened, with cables, cds/software, etc

No junky OEM white box 'I think it will work'.

I have the leadtek unit retail box unit you speak of and the card itself is awsome. The only issue I had with it was the tv out portion. It seems the drivers are not very good but it comes with its own overclocking software thats real easy to use. I used TVCC program for my tv out and it works well. My 3dmark2000 score with the card not overclocked is 7072 if that helps.

Sweet... I use NVmax with the coolbits registry hack for my overclocking; it also has some other useful tools... run a yahoo search for it, but I go the link from here (check 3 weeks ago).
