Question about M$ driver

I installed Windows 98SE last night on my IBM Thinkpad 770 233mhz and all the drivers worked except for one. I looked on the device manager and theres a mark on one of the hard disk controllers. it said

Intel 82371AB/EB PCI Bus Master IDE Controller

I have no idea what this means so if anyone knows can you please reply and tell me if I need it or not. Thanks.

Try removing it, then rebooting. Win98 should pick it up on boot and install the correct ones.

Do you know what its used for?

It is a driver used to control the data going to and fro between your PCI cards and mother board
