I recently built the system in sig. Was wondering how much of a difference it would make if I removed the Zalman hsf noted in sig and re-applied Artic Silver 5 instead of the original stuff that came with the Zalman. I am seeing some fairly high temps when running Prime95, like 59c yesterday evening with ambient temps around 84f. I also have another 120mm fan I am contemplating putting in the top of my Antec P160 case. The cooling seems fairly adequate now but maybe cooling is one of those things you can't have too much of. :p
Thanks for any input.

well ambient temps of 84 are pretty high. with the new paste it could be anywhere from a 1-3 degree drop.

Yeah, 1-3 sounds about right. May as well try it, you cant loose as long as you follow the instructions on the website. If the heatsink base is not smooth, you may get another degree or two by lapping it. Good luck!
