Just installed a 2.0a on an Asus P4s333 board. Factory fan and heatsink with Arctic Silver thermal paste. I'm still hoping I put the paste on correctly. I squeezed a little bit on and tried to spread it evenly, but I don't know if I put on too much or too little. How thick a coating should be on there? Also, what kind of idle temp should I be expecting on the CPU with no o/c or other mods?

IT should be the thineset layer possible.

To do that I do this:

Clean the core and base of the heatsink with lint-free cloth and isopropyl, be sure not to touch what you just cleaned.

I squeeze very little on the heatsink, with a clean blade (Wiped with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl before the procedure)

Take very little amounts and amounts until I fill the core.

Then I rub the heatsink.
