In Partition Magic 7, say I split my NTFS partition's free space, making 2.5 GB into a Linux ext2 partition. Later, when I'm done with the Linux partition, can I use Partition Magic to merge the Linux ext2 partition back with my NTFS partition, regaining the 2.5 GB?

The manual doesn't mention Linux partitions, and I want to know if it's possible without data loss.

I think and anyone correct me if I am wrong that partition magic 7.0 supports all ntfs, and linux partitions with no trouble and doing what your looking for should be no problem with that version

Hmm...I'd need a solid answer or someone who has completed this merge operation successfully before I can split my partition, since formatting if it screws up isn't an option.

I know PQ can make Linux ext2 and swap partitions and size them without problem, but it's the merge option that I need to know about.

Okies, I understand it al now. I wasn't planning on keeping the Linux data, so I don't know why I was thinking of the Merge option. I'll just resize the free space.

Thanks for the info! :D
