Okay, i am in the midst of putting together a W/C system in a Lian Li pc 60. I am having problems with space though (as i knew i would). I think i can fit everything just fine, but my radiator rubs against the bottom of one of my Harddrives.

I had to cut the Hd rack and there is just enough room for my BIX but my Hardrive rests on it (bare) no metal in between. Now the bottom of my Harddrive (WD) has no metal peices, only a few screws and they are set in a little. Should I find a new way to have this setup (will be quite a task) or is my harddrive okay to run like this???

Harddrive is FIRMLY resting on the Radiator. Its pushing it up even...

Help!

Hmm...it's probably be better to not have any metal contacts on the bottom of the HD touching that radiator. You could try putting a small piece of rubber or mousepad between the two - just something thin so that there's no current going between the two.

hehe, i have thought about both these things:

1st) I def can't move the harddrive up, because while there are 2 cd rom bays open, they will be housing the pump as to keep it out of sight.

2nd) I have thought about putting something between, but honestly all that would fit would be a peice of paper. I dunno if this would do any good, but that is how little space there is. I just put a peice of paper towel between and it almost ripped while i lifted the HDD enough to slide the Rad underneath.

What if i filed the radiator so it wasn't so wide. I don't know how the water flows inside the rad but mine is a Black ice xtreme and i currently have it on its side with the 2 barbs facing out. Could i file about 1/16" off of both sides combined? I would really like this to fit in the space as it would make my case very clean and compact. I really need to fit it somehow.

Thanks

Ha, I wish i had enough room for that, but the clearance is seriously zero. They are pushed together firmly as it is.

The filing idea is my best bet right now, i just want to make sure i don't ruin my radiator in the process.

Well i went at the Radiator with a hammer and now have placed a thin peice of mousepad between the 2 surfaces. I will just take this solution and run with it if no one thinks there is a problem with it.

Thanks all.

I thought about reshaping the floor, but its aluminum and doesn't look too thick (lian Li pc-60). I figured if i cut much out of the floor i figured i would just end up making a hole in the floor and finding another way to anchor the radiator. This may still be my best option if i find out the Harddrive next to the radiator (mousepad between) is bad for the harddrive. (how it is currently)
