I need to know if my old ibm 390x with the ata-4 interface will accept a new ata/100 drive.

please respond asap if you have an answer.

Thanks

No reason it shouldn't, it'll just be restricted to ATA-4 transfer rates.

Depending on how old the PC is may determine how much of that drive your BIOS can see as well. It may possibly be restricted by the 8GB addressing sceme.

thanks for the help. i called ibm and they said i shouldn't have a problem with it. just might have to flash my bios, no big deal.
