Quick linux/smp related question...

I'm running the latest folding thing for linux, and for some reason, it only caps out one of my cores, the flip-flops in the "system monitor". is this normal?

PS- i'm running ubuntu 7.10 w/ rain on my desktop

Make sure you've got this client: http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/folding/release/FAH6.02beta1-Linux.tgz

To start up using SMP you need to add the -smp flag. Otherwise the client will run standard units using only one core.

Example: ./fah6 -smp -verbosity 9 -forceasm

Hence NON SMP WU's is what you'll get.

I put the SMP flag last. Personal choice.

if anyone knows any more tweaks for an AM2 X2 lemme know; also, i am running Ubuntu x64 if that makes much of a difference...
