Gee, my favorite place to download patches.

Anyone have an alternative?

My favorite is http://www.fileshack.com/ . It is easy to navigate and if you register you get plenty fast download speeds for free.

Filefront's always been the fastest for me. I get around 120kb/s on fileplanet, around 750kb/s on filefront. Nvidia has really fast downloads too..

Ditto on the Filefront and/or Fileshack ; both have good download speeds .

I used 3dgamers all the time until they got bought out by Fileplanet a few years back. Since then I moved to Fileshack and couldn't be happier. I already went to Shacknews anyway.

I was wondering what happened to 3dgamers, i recently reinstalled ut2004 and went there for my updates /patches etc and got redirected to fileplanet

I have been using 3DGamers all the time for game downloads and when it was directed to fileplanet a few days ago I was deeply dissipointed! :-(

So... there are good alternatives which doesn't cost money?

another vote here for filefront. With my 8 meg connection I usually get somewhere around 1.2 megs down a second from there.

I use Gamearena, but then again im from Australia

I get my full speed 30Mb/s from there

Max iv gotten is 4.2MB/s
