'Hello world' ,
I want to change the default core and mem settings of my 9000 nopro BIOS, but when I start Radedit and load my backup BIOS (wich I created using atiflash.exe) it tells me it's not a valid ATI BIOS.
So I try to use Radclk from the command line, I type "radclk mybios.rom" to view the info on the original BIOS, it reports all the settings correctly but gives a Checksum error at the end, this one :
************* Screen Output **************************
Reference clock: 27.00 Mhz
X-CLK / M-CLK: 250.00 / 200.00 MHz
Core clocking: 249.75 MHz (111*2.25)
Memory clocking: 200.25 MHz (89*2.25)
Effective mem: 400.50 MHz (SDR; 128 bits bus)
Built-in initialization TV standard: NTSC
Run time TVs: NTSC, PAL
Inittime TVs: NTSC, PAL
CRC: 2AF53792, file1: 00000000 file2: 00000000 - Error!
Checksum: 4E00, file1: 4E00 file2: 4E00
************* Screen Output ***************************
Then I try to change the settings typing "radclk mybios.rom 300 500 mynewbios.rom"
I have to put 500 (250DDR) for radclk to clock the BIOS at 250 otherwise the BIOS was clocked at 123.xx
************* Screen Output ***************************

New GPU clocking: 299.25 MHz
New RAM clocking: 249.75 MHz
New CRC: 692A3588 / 692A3588
New Checksum: 5100 / 5100
************* Screen Output **************************
The output file is generated and doesn't give any checksum errors when I type "radclk mynewbios.rom".
Radedit still doesn't want to open it (" ... not a valid ATI BIOS").
Is it Ok to flash the new BIOS ? What do you think ? Is there any way to test before flashing?
I use the last Radedit version wich is supposed to detect the 9000 cards.
P.D. : The vga is a Sapphire 9000 no pro 64Mb.
Thank You,
Sòmines.
