Radeon 8500 128 ddr score ok?

I just got a Radeon 8500 128 DDR at Compusa. They screwed up and gave me the 128 for the price of the 64m, that was the one I was going to buy, but I'm not complaining! Anyway I just ran 3D mark 2001se and I scored just over 8000. Is this acceptable for this card? My rig is back to stock setting to run the test,NO O/Cing! any info would be helpful.

You got a pretty good deal there. In case you start to feel guilty, I'll be happy to trade cards with you.
What drivers are you running?

I tried to install the new certified drivers and it didn't work, so I'm running the January drivers right now.

I have heard of the Radeon 8500 128 MB DDR getting a little above 10,000 but it might have been overclocked so don't take my work for it. I think I saw it at TomsHardwareTomshardware.com

anyone got a bench comparing the 64mb and 128mb on the same system. I want to know if the extra ram is even used.
I don't think tom's hd did it.

More ram allows you to run a higher Res with out slowing down the FPS.

Did you uninstall the drivers and clean "ati" stuff out of the registry before you tried to install the new ones?
