Just built a new system and went with the Radeon 9200. Not the best card by any means but I thought it would do for now. Went to start up UT 2003 and got errors about needing to enable Direct3D Acceleration. Dxdiag showed that these features were not available. I upgraded to DirectX 9.0 and double checked that I have the latest video drivers but no change. Does this card really not support Direct3D acceleration? Not sure if the OS matters much on this. My copy of XP Pro is in route so I tossed a copy of 2003 Server on it for now.

Ideas?

Thanks

for radeons it doesn't matter. Just need the latest Catalyst drivers. The error could be server 2003 because I owned the 9000pro which is basicly the 9200 but without the AGP 8x. I never had any errors with the card but was using XP pro.

The latest drivers are indeed installed. I'll have a copy of XP later today hopefully and we'll see if that makes a difference or not.

Thx

It was the OS apparently. XP Pro is installed and everything is going well. One more question though.....right now it seems that the card has been set to 4X for the agp bus speed. 8x is available and the board and card support it. Should I just bump it up or should I be weary? Its a soyo dragon plus 2.....P4i86.....cant remember the rest.

Thx again.
