Radeon 9700 Pro, what are the 4pin power cables for?

I noticed on the pics I have seen of Radeon 9700 Pro's that they have a 4 pin molex power connector too, its not coming from the fan either. What is this for? Do these cards need that much extra power?

Will the Geforce FX have the same thing?

Is it confirmed that the GeForce FX (whatever..the NV30) will have a 4 pin connector. Last thing I read was that the test ones had them, and it was never confirmed that the final ones would need it.
