that's the great card you can flash it to xt with no problems, I got two sapphire cards, both of them have r360 core and flashed them to xt, I ran ati tool for artifacts for 1hour not a single one found

That's a nice card, and I think you should buy it, but don't expect to be able to play far cry at high settings with it... You only have 512mb of ram and that's simply not enough memmory. The computer in my sig can't play far cry at high settings without skipping frames :( That's why I'm getting myself a gig of ram and an A64 :D

Dont get the Sapphire 128bit card. The TRUE Radeon9800Pro has a 256bit memory bus. While the Sapphire card you are looking at is fast, It is not nearly AS fast as a 256bit 9800Pro. Sapphire is doing some skewed advertising by selling it as a "Pro" card.

"Flashing to XT" refers to overwriting the current BIOS on the video card with that of a Radeon9800XT. Basically, what this does is change the stock clock settings to 412/365 (XT speeds) and modifies the timings on the memory to make the card run a bit faster. In order to be able to flash to XT, you must have a compatible set of video memory and GPU core. While flashing to XT with the r350 core IS possible, it is not recommended because the core will often become unstable at those speeds. In order to safely flash to XT, you should have the r360 core and memory that can handle the higher clock speeds and timings on your card. Flashing to XT gave me about an extra 500 3DMarks on 03.

Full info and flashing instructions here.

Good luck :D

He means 128 MB not bits (as in onboard memory).

The card he is looking at IS the 256-bit version.

either way its a decent card. i just installed a silencer and some ram sinks on my friends sapphire last night and its running great.

LOL

I`m thinking on getting the card tomorrow and maybe another 512DDR so you think this is a sufficient upgrade from the Radeon 9200 128bit and won`t be out of date in a matter of months lol?

U asking me Nocturnal lol am not sure but all athlon XP`s 2.5ghz above i think are 333mhz FSB and then the 3ghz+ i think or the 3.2ghz+ are actually 400FSB

You need to get a couple of things straight. A 333MHz is the double-pumped, effective speed. The actual speed is 166MHz. You are not at 6.25x333, but rather are at 12.5x166.

There are no 3.2GHz+ spec AthonXP's. You mean to say that the 3200+'s use a 400MHz effective front side bus, or 200MHz actual. The 3000+'s are also speced for a 200MHz FSB.

:p yeah m8 i know that`s the effective speed as its double "pumped" the actual speeds are 133mhz, 166mhz and 200mhz FSB atm. I`m just saying the overall speed is 333mhz.

Ya crazy motha :D
