RAID without RAID?

Well I have never researched RAID so I am clueless about it

Could I add a Promise RAID controller to my system and use it for a regular IDE config?

I have no need for RAID, but having two more dual IDE cables and being able to add another 4 drives to my system would be very helpful to get me ALOT of storage space!

So can I use a RAID controller card this way? If not what can I do to add more drives?

Raid card

I would think you could use the card that way. I'm running my Maxtor on a Raid ide channel (built into motherboard) instead of on the regular ide channels.
