Is it seriously that much better to have a 2.5-3-3 over a 2.5-4-3 for an extra $100?? Or a 2.5-3-3 over a 2.5-4-4 also? I wouldnt think that they would have that much of a performance hit with the timings a tiny bit looser..?

yeah, that gskill is good stuff. the default timings are nice and low, so raising them a bit wont hit performance too much, but provide a lotta potential headroom

I was checking this out:http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-231-010&depa=0

and I hear it gets pretty high with maybe 2.5-4-3 or 2.5-4-4

and some people were telling me that I should just get some better RAM and get that on a 2.5-3-3

I actually just ordered those sticks shafted. I'll let you know how they turn out. lowest ram timings ive found for that price range, with a big name overclocking manufacturer to back it up. cant wait to try them out!!!!!!! :D

NO NO NO!!!!!!!!

These are NOT the LA's that are hitting high FSB/HT...

The 1G LA's are 2T rated and do not OC that high...

The 2x256 DC Kit is the LA's that are hitting DDR700+ wiht 2.9v and below...

The LE's are the kits to get for 1G...

LE = best 1G kits
LA = best 512 DC kits...

That was more or less for the other ones...especially rumking since they stated that thye already ordered those sets...that didnt know about the 1G LA's

300.00 is WAY to much for 1G 2T rated memory...

Yes I know. The sticks I ordered are the low level G.skill LA's. If I had more money to blow on the LE's, I would. But given the price at $145.00 for 2x512 g.skills with stock timimgs of 2-3-3-6, I couldnt help but be a cheapskate  . The lifetime warranty is a plus too. Oh BTW these are not the 2t rated LA's. These are the zx models. http://www.gskill.com/pc3200-2-3-3-6-dc.html

Those are OK sticks...but dont expect too much over DDR630 at 11-4-4-2.5/3...

The LA's that everyone is talking about is the 2x256 DC LA kits...those are the ones that have hit DDR600 at 6-3-3-2.5 and up to DDR770 at 8-4-4-2.5...THese LA's are also the ones that seem to like reallyhigh voltage...3.2v and they have been known to run at 5-2-2-2.5 up to 285+...

RumKing...if you would...post what your results are in a week or 2 after they settle in...since that set is fairly new around here...I myself am interested in some first hand results...thanks...

Yes glock i know which LA's ur talking about. But given their high fsb, they are still only 512(2x256). Now I'm all for overclocking numbers, but 512 just doesnt cut it anymore, i dont care how high the fsb can go. I believe Newegg labeled the product number incorrectly, so they shouldnt be considered LA's. G.skill's site has them labeled as F1-3200PHU2-1GBZX, with no mention of having TCCD chips. Did I mention they are only 145 bucks?!?!?!?

I understand ur ranting and raving about the real TCCD LA's glock, and that whole 1T 2T deal. But at such a high fsb, a change from 1T to 2T will not have a profound effect on performance, especially considering your system will have much more memory, an extra 512 MB. IMO too many people are so blinded by overclocking numbers that they forget about the fluid computing experience as a whole.

Anyway, these ******* are in the mail and I will update with a new thread on performance. Peace.
