I just put the card in and installed the catalyist drivers and now windows 2k will just hang and i have to reset the computer. Anyone have an idea?

Im guessing you didnt reformat after you installed it. Try that, it most likely will fix it. If you dont want to, there are many programs that will rid you of old drivers, but nothing beats a good reformating.

Try and reboot in safe mode and uninstall the drivers. Then install your card and and bootup and reinstall your drivers.
Make sure that you are using the drivers from ATI.

ive just installed a 9800pro and went straight for a reformat,im used xp but im sure 2k would be the same,i installed the O.S then CAT 3.9 drivers and system kept crashing,if your card is like mine directx9 i recommend u do all windows updates including DX and then install the drivers for the card.you may have already thought of it but just incase it will save you anymore aggrivation

Ah.... i see that you too have a VIA board. Check your AGP/FSB settings. You coulda set it too high for your 9800. Also check your MB settings, I had a problem very similiar to that when installing a 8x AGP 5200FXu on a 4x board. Make sure that Fastwrite is enabled in the BIOS.
