System: Air cooled (Vantec) ASUS P4P800, CORSAIR 256X2, P4 2.4c, Raid 0 36 GB Raptors, 9700pro Zalman heatpipe 344mghz 327mem; running at 3.14 ghz CPU 260 Mem 320, Prime95 stable 24 hrs. 3d2001se 17306, PCmark04 4944,
Casualties: 1 raptor, 1 IBM 60 gig
When first assembled sandra04 file system bench marks were over 90,000 now less than 41,000 PCmark02 HD score was over 2,000 now barly 205. in the first array one raptor and one IDE IBM disks died within 30 minutes of operation. Now replaced with a fresh raptor and Maxtor 40 gig for games. The second array was set up by BlackRaven a member of this forum. But I am experiencing the same diminishing benchmarks for my hard disks.
It seams when watching the tests the reads seam adequate but the writes take forever it also seams to take forever to load a game onto my IDE drive.
I got the P4P800 board because I was told the 865 chipset is better for OCing with SATA than the P4C boards with the 875 chipset.
Please Help.
