So last week I got some new goodies. A Saitek Keyboard, a Razer Imperator, and a Razer Vespula mat that is WAY too small for my hand.

Anyway the Razer Imperator is rated at 6400DPI with dual optical/laser sensors. The drivers work great, I like the UI, and all the adjustments that come with it.

I hate to say it but I absolutely cannot get used to this mouse, I readjusted my keyboard tray with a level to make sure it was perfectly flat and readjusted the cable so it didn't sag and throw the mouse off. No matter what I do I'm experience less-than-accurate movements from this mouse regardless of the DPI setting, acceleration, or lift-off.

Starcraft, BF3, Hitman, I miss in all of them. My previous mouse was a 2000DPI Diamondback so I'm not sure if I should just get a Deathadder.

Can anyone shed some light on what I might be missing here? I've never been this depressed over a mouse before.

There are two things that could make you inaccurate with your mouse:

1. dust on the mat (or in the mouse)
2. the wrist bag of the mat (I used it once, never tried once more: I found it really hard to play starcraft with it).

What you can do is to check if there is some dust between the mouse and the mat, check if the cable of the mouse is not twisted or too rigid (what could make the mouse slightly move) and set sensibility pretty low (with the two buttons over the mouse).
And then, train and try to get used to this new mouse: I have the same, it kicks ***!

For your information, I use Razer Goliathus (speed edition) as a mat, great for the RTS like starcraft where you need to be active everywhere on the screen at any time.

Thanks!

What's the difference between cloth and aluminum mats??

alumimium are really stable (no "bump" in the mat when you press on it) and durable but it makes a little more noice that a cloth mat when you move your mouse.

Cloth are really comfortable, but less stable than aluminium.

I guess I'll keep trying. It just seems like the mouse cursor keeps misfiring...
