This is my first try ay boot after setting up a new NF7-S board. There is a red led in the bottom right corner near the SATA plugs its on and no reset/power buttons work. Any ideas? Need it ASAP. Thanks.

Make sure you put the power switch wires on the correct pins in the correct orientation. If they are on correctly... are any fans turning on when you press the power button? beeps?

Edit: The red led simply shows that the mobo is getting power.

that little light bugs me slightly : / any way to disable it? and unless i unplug the power cord from the PSU...the light along w/ the red light from my MS optical mouse stay on  just a bit annoying when i have to sleep in the same room as it.

Power switch wires? You mean the front switch?

OK those seem to be in the proper way, I am not even getting fan movement. Nothing but the red LED on.

In the manual there's a diagram that shows you exactly which pins you plug your power switch, reset switch, hard drive indicator LED and power on front case LED. There's a + & - on many of the leads and pins so you have to be very careful that they're hooked up right.

Maybe you've already checked these but I thought I'd mention them because some times it's the small things that trip you up.

besides there being the red light, there should also be two orange and green led's in the usb and lan connection on the backbapel of the board. I just got an NF7 yesterday and had trouble getting the system to boot. My trouble was I forgot to plug in the extra power connector to my 9700. make sure everythings in there tight. You could also try shorting the power button pins with a jumper, just make sure the power supplies off when you do it.

The Red led is a power ready LED it justs lets you know that board is getting the power that it needs. If you are worried about it being red then I wouldnt worry too much because its supposed to be that color.

If you have an optical mouse, you will notice it stays lit also when the MB is off. If you READ your MB manual, you will find out that there is a jumper that can be switched into another position so the red LED and your optical mouse LED will turn off when the PC is off.
