We have just purchased RedHat 8.0 Pro for development purposes, so here goes the development. I want to put it on a dually that I have yet to build and use the box as an email server.

Do you have any quick tips or warnings about RH 8.0 pro dealing with web serving and email?

Thanks for your opinions,
Wedo

Also, it might be a good idea to configure either iptables or the red hat firewall tool to drop packets on the ports you aren't using. If your really paranoid, you could tell it to drop ICMP packets too, although no one will be able to ping your server then.

Those are both excellent ideas, thanks. We'll be running the RH box behind a SonicWall Pro which has more security than George Bush Jr. :D

...and the services idea is right out of a Winbloze "must-do," perfect.

Thanks again,
Wedo
