I'm thinking of buying an AK31a board because they are very inexpensive.

I presently have 1 gig of registered ECC DDR ram, 2 sticks of Crucial and 2 sticks of Corsair on my KG7-R, and I'm thinking of trying to get another folding box together and was wondering if anyone out here is using registered DDR on a AK31a board. I want to rob 2 sticks of ram off my Abit board and run it on the Shuttle board.

Thanks in advance for any help.

ram

If you plan on using all 4 dimms, registered or single-sided ram might be the only way it'll work. Apparently non-registered and/or double-sided sticks don't like to be positioned so close together and I've seen a few posts on a google newsgroup about it. However using 2 slots or 3 is not a problem.

Thanks for the replies. I bought these sticks of ram last year when ddr was so cheap, ordered the Crucial and they sent me an email saying it would take 2 weeks to get it to me. So I ordered the 2 sticks of Corsair and then both came in the same day. I decided to keep all of it instead of returning 1 batch and now I'm glad I did, with the price of ddr nowdays. I got the Crucial for around 35 a stick back then.
