MY WinWBK38's 60mm stock fan was replaced with a Sunon 80mm 42.5cfm/36.5dba fan. Even though the Sunon has a higher cfm rating, I gained roughly 1C, but lowered the NOISE drastically!!!! The Mb temp and all else remained the same. I can't believe how much quieter it is now! I can hear my hard drive! :)
The clips on the WinWBK will stretch to accomodate the larger fan.

Hey

i went one higher. i got a 92 mm fan on mine. just put a fan guard on it, have the fan guard facing down and clip to the fan guard. works beautifully. also my 92 mm fan actually had a smaller dead spot than the 80 mm sunon i got.

How did your temps change?? I just might try the 92mm depending on your temps :)

i havent been tracking my temps cause they seem kinda inaccurate.

i have the msi k7t turbo board tho and that board has a northbridge hs w/o fan. that's y i went to the 92mm it gives more airflow overall and more over the northbridge chip. this is just temporary till my blue orb comes in the mail.

bottom line i get more stability w/ 92 than i do w/ 80. also, the 92 allows you to go higher cfm at same amount of noise as the 80 mm.

I got an extra 3C cooler with a double stack 80mm (fans are reverse to each other) ofer teh FOP32-1 fan. But this doesnt fit anymore with the 120mm on the side :)

Man that is so fecking cool I am going to do this with this sweet Panaflo I have! you guys are both blowing down correct?

I placed an additional 92mm fan nearly in front of the HSF about 7-9 inches away(where the side case would be...it's removed) and I lost 4C CPU and gained 1C Mb!
When I get my new case, I'm definately going to mod it with a couple of 120mm fans on the side over the CPU area! I'll replace the 80mm HSF with a 92mm 50.1cfm too. :)

Bump I am ging to try this on my duron before my 1.2 gets here.
