My machine is a PowerMac G4 Cube with the ATI Radeon card. The gfx cpu fan is rather loud, in comparasion to the HDD (the only other source of sound when CD rests). I am considering to replace the ATI fan with a Blue Orb or something similiar, in order to get the noise level down.

Is this a good idea? Is the Blue Orb the best choice for a quiet fan? Or should I go for just a regular heatsink?

Thanx / PJ

The Thermaltake Blue Orb is pretty quiet, However, I never heard the fan on the Radeon. Its only $9 at www.coolerchips.comand I just checked the vender deals links they will give you a $1 off shipping.

Thanks. I'll order one later today. What machine are you running? I take it you don't have the G4 Cube, the Radeon fan noise is quite dominant on that machine.

Has anyone really installed the Blue Orb or any other fan in the Cube? Any quieter?
