ok, here's my question:

im gonna get 2 comair-rotron 12vdc Major's...

i really need to know what kind of rheostat i can use with these...
im not sure which rotron im gonna get, but i really would like to know how to figure out what kind of rheostat i need...obviously it would need to be more than 25w (i guess it really doesnt matter if it's 25, b/c the ones im lookin @ are 25.2), but i need to know how many watts, ohms, amps, etc etc...

sorry, but im really not an electronics whiz, so if anyone could dumb it down, it would really be appreciated...

Tommy Boy: " I was just checkin' the....uh...specs on the rotary...girder...uhh...I was lookin' for the......I'm retarded..."

ok now, bear w/ me please...

the fan im gonna get:

Comair Rotron Major DC
12VDC
2.26 Amps
(webpage says 25.2 watts, but calculation shows more like 27)

so, would this rheostat do?

35ohm 1.19amp 50watts....

if not, what part isnt right/would make the computer explode?

i mean i could go w/ a 25w rheo, but i want to get the maximum outta my fans...

They're rated in watts and amps. The watts have to do with how much heat the body can dissipate. The amps is how much current the wiper will tolerate without deteriorating.
