Got my RTX 4090 today, it's a Gigabyte RTX 4090 Windforce 24GB card, it does come with the power adapter, and a crutch for holding up the card inside the case, now you know you have a heavy GPU when you get a crutch to help hold the other end up

Awesome! Glad you got it! 22M PPD+ out of just this one card, here you come!

Yeah, we've seen GPU struts/supports on heavy cards for a couple of generations now. They are a lot more common now on these power-hungry cards.

This is 1st I've seen these other than what my HAF 932 cases came with but I have a feeling those are going to be too small to use, none of my 1080,2080 and 3080 cards need any support as I have not seen them droop or sag. I'll see what this card does and see if I need to support it or not :)

They don't put the supports/struts in the box for giggles, lol... I'll tell you that much. Even with 3 screws in the IO plate, these are beefy and droop, putting unnecessary tension on the PCIe slot and PCB of your expensive card. I'd use the support fo sho.

Congrats on your new beast ppd earner!

I've never bought a video card that came with a jack stand, but I've made a few supports over the years out of a chopstick. :)

Ok, I've been thinking about this stand and here is what I'm going to do, I don't like that this will not a screwed down and fall out of place when moving the PC around, so I'm going to use Alien Tape on the base and the support arm of the stand so it won't go anywhere

NO NO NO NOOOooooooo! :rain::bang head
It won't fit, my HAF 932 case that can fit a SWTX 4P server MB won't take a RTX 4090.
The MB bay is 1/4 inch too small, that's how much more room I need to get this thing in there.
I may cut out some of the hard drive bay but just enough to get it in, but that would mean I have to take everything out to do grind cutting.

I don't know if you can see this but where the arrow is pointing to is what I have to cut off.
p.s. this is not my case, just a pic I got off internet.

Before I do any cutting with a cutting wheel, I'm going to try something. I'm going to task the IO bracket off and see if I can wiggle it in then put the bracket back on.
I'm hoping this will give me the clearance I need.

Well :poop::poop::poop::poop::poop:, even if I cut that lip off it still won't fit, I'm going to have to get a new case and found 1 that can fit a crad up to 36cm long.
