Waiting for the HL2 RTX remix to go live. I see on Steam the demo is out tomorrow. Hate to admit I've never played through HL2 (or the first) even though I own it. This might be the excuse I need to give it another look.

I'd skip classic HL and go with Black Mesa. I grew up playing a lot of Half-Life, CS, TF, and that disk game. Black Mesa is a fantastic true to origin update. It pairs better with the HL2 story than the original game, as the original had story elements left out. You do not need to play one before the other, it just helps with the story depth if you'd like.

Blue and Opposing forces are also very fun, so if you do go the classic route, add those to your list before HL2. Again, not needed but adds more depth to the story if you are curious.

Portal? That's the reason I own the rest. By the time I got it, it was bundled in Orange Box with a bunch of the other stuff I didn't care about much. I was pretty much past first person shooters by that point. Still, I recognise that HL2 was quite impactful a game of the time so I feel I should know more about it.

I was playing this when steam was first introduced heh.

I think I have a 5 or 6 digit member ID for steam...

The disk game was Ricochet. Was kinda like Tron fights with bouncy pads between places and bouncing disks off of walls
