:comp: today I smelt something burning at my desk, i shut everything all down but clouded trace the smell, on boot up bios reports raid off line i lost D drive in windows 8.1 running 2 1tb Seagate barracuda in raid 0.
no report of raid errors

external drives still work

windows 8.1
Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
AMD 9590
16 gig 2133 ram
Asus Gforce 760
4 ssd 120 640 rocket raid 0 still works drive C
2 1tb Seagate barracuda 7200 64 meg cache raid 0 drive D off line

how do i test what went wrong and what needs replacing, motherboard, drives...oh bisos cant see both drives witch is crazy, i unplug each one to test the problem to see watch one failed but bios can't see any of the 2.

close inspection i found on the bottom of the sata ac plugin was melted and was shorted out with a new ac splitter the drive won,t work but the other one did so i'll replace the pcb on the bad drive to recover some lost data, let you all know if it works
