Well today life is a little slower than it used to be, you see my bh-6 was killed in action. yesterday i go off to work and as always i leave my computer on. when i came home however my computer was "off" when i tried to start it, it just sat silent and dull without one blinking light to say hello friend. after some investigation and poking around in my case i decided that my power supply crapped out on me. (it was the cheap pos that came with my case 235 watt generic) so today i go to my local computer store and shell out 50 duckets for a 300 watt powermax with 2 fans come home plug it in and as life would have it no lights, no whirring of the cd rom or hd's. so out comes the screw driver and then the mobo. the only sign of battle is one of the ic's has a little bitty hole in it and that my fellow oc'ers makes for a sad day..

adios amigo, you will be missed

now what the hell do I put in it's place?
give me your thoughts,
I have the following to put in my case with the new mobo....
tnt graphics card
voodoo 2 add on
promise fast track 66 (was a ultra 66 once upon a time)
fa310 nic
usr sportster modem
awe 64
2 10 gig maxtors udma66 7200 rpm in raid 0 config
plextor 8/4/32
cd rom

Know how you feel, mate. My BH6 died recently on me too. One of the capacitors(?) has a nice hole in it on mine too.

Millennium bug strikes BH6s?

The following link shows what's written on the Compo that's got the hole in it:

Has the same compo gone on yours?

Why couldn't it have waited another few months for the DDR/non-DDR Athlon question to be answered?

I've got a Soyo P6VCA on order (It was cheap and has all the features I need on it). I'm waiting for a new Slocket as well (what's holding up my order) to see if anything else has been killed by the capacitor going pop.

if this stuff isn't surface mounted, i can re-solder+replace these chips for you guys for almost Dirt cheap. are you interested??
