I got my Samsung 512MB DDR PC2700 which is stock at 333Mhz to run at PC3200 400Mhz!! Is this a pretty good overclock for the ram? I had to increase voltage from 2.6V to 2.7V to increase stability. What do you guys think? With this overclock can I take my P4 higher now?

most PC2700 can hit 400mhz.

my kingston PC2100 can do 215FSB stable in prime95 for 7hours with 2.9v :)
i run it at 200mhz 2.8v ran prime for 15hours before i stopped it.

If you'd like, see how far that memory can go. you could always set it back down to 200mhz after you're done with your testing. :)

PC3200 is noticably faster than PC2700. I was suprized with my performance gain when I made the overclock. I'll see if I can take it higher. Thanks

oh yeah, i noticed a huge difference as well.

also just wondering what timings are you using?

anything over 160FSB on my kingston, i need to use 2.5-3-3-6
even at 215fsb.

also the funny thing is, this memory loves these timings, i can't even relax the timings at 215fsb. or else i can't get a POST

Some of the older Samsung PC2700 was incredible - people were hitting up to 220 or so on it, at most.

my samsung 256mb pc2700 stick!!

single channel on NF7-S, and see the voltage!!! 2.85v!!!
unfortunatelly this ram doesn't accept any highter voltage, like OCZ PC3700 gold, the ram that have ovp at 2.85 and use samsung tcb3 chips :D :p
cas latency is a 2.5, so 2.5-3-3-11

at 2.6v can do 220mhz prime stable at 2.5-2-2-5 :D

I used to have 2x512MB DDR400 Samsung modules with the TCCC chips... they were CAS 3. In single channel with 2.7v they could go past 225FSB no probs... but they couldn't do anything past 210FSB at CAS 2.5 even at 2.8v
In Dual Channel I got errors at 200FSB tho so they've now been sold.
