I have 2 Samsung drives on my mobo's rig in my sig file. They have served me well, albeit the 4TB is not a year old yet, but it is half full already, ugh.

I should have 2 or 3 more slots open on my mobo for more storage. Aside from the model in the subject line, are there others I should consider? I'm not looking to break the bank. My uses are installing games on the drive, and adding images to the drive for digital photography work using LR/PS.

I've been using the WD Blacks for a while. I like Crucials drives too.
I haven't used WD Blacks in this tech before, only HDs, they were good back then hah. I haven't bought Crucial in forever, I had some bad RAM from them, and never went back. However, maybe things are different, I'll look. Thanks!

best for PCIE 4.0 the Crucial T500 or for 5.0 T700/T705. some people have brand preference, i have had no issues with samsung so i am not in a hurry to switch. Crucial is been around a long time too and making memory IC's. I would not have any problems switching to them but size/speed to cost ratio. Samsung is the best for my needs, i do game but games load fast enough right now. Mine are not M.2 though, im still SATA :O when i do get my 11th gen put together, i got a SK hynix P41 and just got a Samsung 990 Evo Plus.

Thanks! I only have all Samsung because when I started a previous build Samsung had good reviews on speed, generally, and the price wasn't bad on sale. They were not the fastest, but not that slow either. So I've stuff w/them. Corsair is too pricey of course.

I've always had good luck w/the WD. I'll have to see. I'm looking now, not buying yet as I see the 4TB stick start to get full, yikes! I remember when 1 TB seemed like it would never fill!
