I have PC3700 and another member has the same buffalo chips but pc3200. my question is in sandra if u look where i circled both chips read exactly the same. does that mean we have the same exact chips? or is it just like a brand or something. Im just wondering is the pc3200 and pc3700 the extact same stuff just with a different sticker or is my pc3700 really better ram. BTW this ram is rated 466 at cas 3. i havent had a chance to push it any further then this so i dont know if it will go any higher.

i dont know quite what your getting at, the winbond thingthat is circled at the top has to do with your cpu's temp sensor i think.
100% correct.

i made a mistake, can u look at mainboard info and then read the ram modules. y does my pc3700 read as pc2700? does the software just need updating?

any1 with pc3200 buffalo, will u please read ur sandra and tell me if u have the exact same stuff as this pc3700

I thought it might be because your ram is only at 333, but your at 440 fsb. you wouldnt be able to hit 420 with 2700. its probably an error. I heard of someones amd cpu saying"posusore" instead of *.**ghz

I'd say the only way we'd know for sure if it's exactly the same is by reading the chips themselves. BTW, I'm the guy w/ the PC3200.

Mine says:

249WE
W942508BH-5

I'm 99.9% sure mine uses the same chips as yours. That's the reason I saved a few $$ and got the PC3200. The only difference I could see there being would be in the PCB. Either way no software should be able to distinguish the 2 when they have the same chips. Mine has a number on the PCB, too:

UE0532-AA

mine reads

305WE
W942508BH-5

UE0832-AA

what do u think the same or not?

I bought 2 sticks and they both have the same numbers and they do not match the ones you just posted so I'm going to have to make the assumtion that they are not the same RAM. I relaxed my timings, and it didn't go much farther. It maxed out at about DDR 450 2-6-3-3. My Geil did DDR 466 at that speed, but it couldn't even come close to timings of the Buffalo at DDR440.

How high can you push yours at 2-5-2-2?

i dont know if its stable yet, i have to ruun to the store so ill loop 3dmark and see if its still running by the time i get back.
