Ahhh, thats better...
May be a stupid question, I'm not exactly a noob BUTTTTT

I was setting up two SATA 160 Gig WD Caviar drives in a new system usinf a Va onboard Raid controller on teh Asus K8V MoBo.

when I was in the Raid Bios, only 1 Drive showed me a size and a serial number, the other serial number was blank and the size was 0. does this indicate a bad drive?

when I tried to install winXP it said "cannot access drive"

I deleted the Raid array (it was RAID 0, sorry) and installed winXP on the onedrive that had showed the serial number and size.

do I need to do anything special to set up a raid array as a bootable.

is 36 Gig the limit on Raid 0 or is that old info I read somewhere and am misinterpreting.

thanks

Does it show up now when you are running on one drive? Have you tried running the WD diagonistics on it?

The Instructions were wrong. they clearly state that SATA1 should be master and SATA2 should be slave. they both need to be set to Master to be recognized.
