Hi guys,
So I'm having issues setting up my sound system. I have the following:
Windows 7
Logitech G51 surround sound 5.1
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fata1lty Edition
My issues is I don't know where to put the inputs on the sound card! I had windows xp and it was the same thing, when I use the Logetich Sound Test, it doesn't pick up all the speakers. I have 4 speakers and a sub woofer.
I once got them all to work but then I had to pack up and move and I totally forgot the plug configuration I had now I can't get it right.
From the pics you can see I have:
4 inputs on the sound card, which the blue is the microphone, then as you go down the line it says input 1, 2, 3, and 4. A total of 5 inputs (including the microphone).
Now my speakers the (G51's) have only 4 inputs/outputs (including the microphone).
From top to the bottom of the sub woofer it says:
Green: Front
Black: Rear
Orange: Sub/Center
Pink: Microphone
So what goes where? I tried matching up the colors and that doesn't work. I've been trying random combinations (keeping the microphone input in the blue input), so messing around with the remaining 3 inputs and havn't gotten to a confirguation where it works on all speakers. Also remember this USE to work so I know this can't be a driver issue with windows 7 because it also doesnt work on xp anymore.
Here are the pictures:
Any help would be great!!
NOTE: the Logetic G51 manual says:
If you have a PC and a 6,7, or 8 channel (5.1,6.1, or 7.1) sound card: connect all 4 colored plugs from the audio input cable to the color-coded jacks on the sound card.
IF the jacks on your sound card are not color coded, plug the auddio inputs as follows:
green to front L/R (or #1)
black to rear L/R (or #2)
orange to center (or #3)
pink to mic input (or #4).
Now if I follow that instructions, it won't work because clearly you can see, input #4 is NOT the microphone jack. The microphone jack on the sound card is blue and is infront of jack #1. So already I can see this won't work.
If I follow the above configurations the following speakers will work:
Front left, front center, and front right.
Rear left and Rear Right won't work.
