Alright, I'm ****ed off, so excuse if I sound like a *******. I've had to live with transferring music to a Emachine to my Iriver for months now because my older computer didn't have usb 2.0 and this brand new Core2duo set up with a mobo that spews USB 2.0 doesn't seem to actually have it.
I have reinstalled windows, updated like I should. The mobo CD tells me I need to install SP1 or SP2 and then my USB 2.0 will work and blah blah, well I've done that so many times my eyes are going to fall out. When I connect my IRiver to my computer I get a error "Connecting Hi SPEED something to a non hi speed hub"
The mobo is as follows
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131032
Means nothing
This is an Iriver H10 5GB, I can get it to work on my brothers laptop INSTANTLY, on a frickin 3 year old emachine instantly, but nope. Not the "super computer" of the house hold can detect a ****ty H10.
This is so amazingly irritating.
People tell me when they don't know what else to say "TRY A FIRMWARE UPDATE!", well this isn't possible because apparently I don't have USB 2.0 so it doesn't interact correctly. Windows media 10 should detect my Iriver, it doesn't. Iriver should be seen as a mass storage device in My Computer, it's not. It's seen as a ? Iriver H10 in my device manager.
The H10 came with no drivers, no nothing. It's meant to work immidiatly.
