Sata Drive won't burn CD/DVD

Hey there readers. I got a new dvd burner a few weeks ago, ASUS DRW-2014L1T, and it won't burn any CDs, and I am guessing no DVDs either, but have not tested DVDs. It is a sata drive, my only sata optical drive, and my system is an ASUS P5B-E board with a C2D E6400. It reads cds and dvds fine, just has problems burning. Here is one log file from Nero:

In the output window, it stated a DMA-driver error and CRC error. I have tried burning many CDs with lower and lower speeds with no luck. The media is TDK CD-R 48x. I have also received a different error from nero, here is the log from that error.

and the output to the window for that error was Invalid block address and invalid write state, session fixation error. I have updated the firmware on the burner from asus's website, and updated the chipset drivers for my mobo from asus's website, although the Matrix Storage Manager Driver wouldn't update. Anyone have any help for me?

When you say SCSI, I take it that it's an ide drive and that it's showing up in the system as a SCSI drive?

I had a similar issue when I had mine connected to the JMicron controller, and foolishly installed the JMicron Raid drivers (assuming I had to install everything that was available.

I solved all the issues, by completely uninstalling everything JMicron, and leaving it at that state.
 
erhm yeah, I ment SATA. Sorry, just got back this morning from vacation. I will try uninstalling the raid drivers now
 
yeah... try that. It was really really odd, and took me ages to figure, because it did some things right, but removing all raid drivers from the controller it was on solved it for me.
 
I had the drive connected to one of the master sata connections. I switched it to a slave setting and it just burned a cd, quite quickly, too. Thanks
