I just installed my abit se6, but I just discovered that my son was using the install cd as a wall for his lego house. (gotta love'em). The retailer has no cd's, and abit says they may or may not help. Does anybody know where i can get the cd. Borrow or buy or even rent, it doesn't matter.

How badly is cd damaged? Try using Brasso, auto buffing paste, acrilic bathtub cleaner or smokers toothpaste/powder to polish out scratches. Final polish with regular toothpase (not gel), lastly put wax polish on (like Pledge) and buff with soft cloth. If you have access to a CDR-W try reading it on that, they are usually more precisce and you can store an image and then burn a replacement if necessary.

I see this is your first post, I welcome you to this site and hope you enjoy our forum as much as I do.

There are also CD polishes available at stores such as Office Max and Staples.

You can download any drivers you need from Abit or one of their mirror sites. I am on my way to work but if no one else posts I will look at my CD later today to give you a run down concerning the drivers that are on the CD.

Which Windows are you using? You may not need the CD if you are using Windows ME.

You can get all the drivers online from the website like was stated. In fact, they are more up to date than the ones supplied on the install CD. However, if you can't get the CD to work and can't seem to download the files and drivers you need, email me privately. I can burn you a copy of my CD and send it to you. Click on the email symbol next to my nickname for email.

Or if you are on a broadband connection, Batboy possibly or I for sure can email all the files to you!!

The drivers are about 80 megs in size.

se6 installation drivers UPDATE

Thanks to all. I'm up and running(about 90%). The onboard video is working along with the ultra ata. Although, the onboard sound card is inop. And I have an unknown device(with no description). Probably related to the sound but I don't know yet. I got tired of messing with it today, so I took it on it's maiden voyage. It's a celeron 633 cco @ 950mhz (100 3-3-1, 1.7v) First try out of the box with stock heatsink and fan plus homemade copper plate. I'm pretty happy, it looks like I got a good one. It never went over 37 deg. c.

when I get the system straightened out,I'll see what it'll really do ;)

Wow, you did get a good CPU. I suspect, same as you, that the unknown device is the sound. Read the manual, seems like it lists the procedure for installing the sound software. Also, make sure that the three onboard sound devices that have AC97 in thier name are "enabled" in the "intergrated peripherals" menu of the BIOS.
