if i want to go into bios ... it often crash :*(
i use it with a PIII 800EB (not overclocked) and 256 mb infineon sdram (cas2)
does anybody know why this can be ???????????
i can`t go into bios if i try to overclock .. at 137mhz it stops or crash after ide checking

....
p.s. does anybody know why i can`t change the multiplicator of my PIII800EB ???

I have lots of experience with the SE6, so I'll try to help you, but I'm not fully understanding what you're trying to ask. Does it crash when trying to get into the BIOS (Soft Menu) where you hit the "delete" key during the startup post, or does it lock up as it loads Windows?

Many of these boards don't like running the RAM at full speed above 137 bus speed. Try the user define setting of 137 MHz (4:3:1) and see if that will work. That runs the memory bus at 3/4 of the bus speed.

You can't change the CPU clock multiplier because it's internally locked. The P-III 800EB has a multiplier of 6, leave that setting alone because messing with it will only cause trouble. Good luck.

Also to add to the Batboy's answer, you should disable Speed Error Hold and likely need to disable Video Bios Shadowing and System Bios Shadowing.

The Speed Error Hold will be in the SoftMenu while the other settings are in other screens.

When you attempted to go to higher FSB did you also increase the voltage a small amount? ? If so then and if the other settings are as above I don't have a lot more to add. A good heatsink/fan combination is also a requirement for good overclocking.

As Batboy said we can't really understand what you mean by your statement that the computer crashes when you go into the BIOS.

I hope we can help you.

u have unstand it well , but do u have any sollution for this **** F***ing bug ?????????????
the ram r running with 153 MHz in cas2 , BUT ONLY if i put "in order Queue" to 1 and this has a bad inlfuence on memory performence (in sisoftsandra2001 r only 230mb per sek)
and if i put it back to 4 it crashed by checking ide`s

but thx

sorry that is not my problem ,,,
often i can`t get into bios ,, if i hit delete it just crash !!

if i turn "in order Queue" to 1 it runs stable on 153fsb
without any problems, but than i`ve a bad memory performance (230mb/s in sisoftsandra2001)
and under "in order Queie" 4 i can`t overclock :*(

but thx
