I have the external Hard Drive listed up in the title, which I bought for the capacity at the time which was the highest you could get with 7200 RPM and eSATA. Paid a pretty penny at the time for all of these features. It lasted about 10 months before the eSATA no longer recognizes on any PC I own or with any cord. The status light doesn't come on even though the drive starts spinning. Interestingly, when I try to use the non-working eSATA it messes up my USB connection for a little while, sometimes ranging from a few minutes to a few hours of non-detection on the USB port. However, when I use USB exclusively it gives no problems whatsoever. Does anyone have any advice on this issue as I bought the drive so that I could use eSATA and I would like for that to be possible to continue well into the future.

Replace cable, try a different computer... or RMA.

I've said it before, so much so that you might think I am a troll, but this is my opinion based on personal experience: Seagate is complete crap, their external enclosures are very poorly and inefficiently built.

RMA will most likely have to be the option I take, but I will have to find somewhere to put all of my crap from the external hard drive as it only has 130 GB of free space.
