My old computer went kaput. I had an Abit AV8 with a ****ty via chip set that I blame for killing three hard drives. After troubleshooting EVERY PART or RMA'ing them. I said f this, I am building a new one. But I am keeping my old CPU, RAM, and SATA Hard Drives and some of my fans.

I am going for an upper-middle end machine with all UV mods on the inside and some exterior Lazer LED/CCFL lighting. I need some help with a few choices. I don't know much about cooling and overclocking. Here's most of my gameplan. I'm looking for suggestions, alternatives or advice.

Case - Lian-Li PC-V2000B custom modded by Performance-PCs.com

with an Alphacool LCD Display

custom mounted to the 5 1/4" drive cage behind the window seen here by my kick *** diagram.

I am also having a window installed on the top with a 120mm Blowhole.
See my awesomely scaled diagram here.

Motherboard - DFI LAN party ATI xpress 3200 - My motherboard uniquely positions the CPU in front of the RAM.
So, I created this to illustrate how it will look inside the case.

CPU - AMD FX-53
CPU Heatsink - Scythe Infinity 5

Video Card - Sapphire ATI X1900XTX

- with the Arctic Cooling Accelero X2 VGA Cooler

RAM - OCZ Platinum DDR RAM PC-3200 with 2-3-2-5 timings (2 X 512Mb)

Hard disks - four Western Digital 250 GB SATA 7200 RPM

5 1/4" Bay devices:
1. I have a Thermaltake Hardcano 12 fan controller, but I am debating going with something more low tech. Like this...

2. PLEXTOR Slot Load 16X DVD±R DVD Burner Black IDE Model PX-716AL

3. sunbeam light bus light controller.
http://www.xoxide.com/sunbeam-525-lightbus-black.html

4. 3.5" floppy drive bay converter

5. I have room for 3 more devices. Can anyone help my think of what to put there??
One of my ideas was to get a 10,000 RPM SATA drive and put it in one of those 5 1/4" bay HD Coolers and using that for my OS/primary drive.

I am debating putting a Delta TFB1212GHE Extreme High Speed fan @ 220CFM on my heatsink, seen here http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/de12tfexhisp.html

should I position my fan on the left side of the heatsink to blow cool air onto the heatsink or should I position it on the right side to blow the warm air out the back? or will that bring to much warm air onto my RAM?

any idea on the performance difference with a delta? i know they are like a jet engine - so can you turn the rpm down when i am not o/c'ing? the thing i fear about the delta is it uses 4.x amps on the 12v. my psu is the ultra x 2 connect with 2 X 18a 12v rails

Exaust fans?
Will these fans
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=219&products_id=1452

work for the two 80mm EXAUST fan holes above where the psu sits?? or are they exclusively for heatsinks?
The 120mm stock fan has an air duct in the rear that forces warm air downward toward the psu, so it makes sense to me to put two 80mm fans for exaust there.

I am also debating getting a second PSU and just using it for lights and fans.

Should I get a north bridge cooler as well??

I am debating getting a PhysX card... Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Well, if you only want 1gb of ram, get a 1gb stick instead of 2x512mb sticks. this will set your ram at 1T which is faster then 2T. and well,i would say dont get a fx-53, its getting kindof dated.

Did you read the first part of my post ? My CPU, RAM and HDs are from my old box.

o sorry. the only thing i would say then is overclock your cpu. otherwise it might bottleneck your gfx card
