Ok I was playing around in my bios, and I set my multi to 13.5. My comp wouldn't boot so I cleared cmos via the jumper on the mobo. However it still won't boot, I press the power button and the hardware starts up fine but there's nothing on the screen. I figured it might be the vid card so I took it out but it still doesn't work. I checked all the cables and everything was hooked up properly. All comments and suggestions are appreciated.

If you have a question ask and I'll answer it.

Here are my comp specs:

Mobo: Soltek NFORCE2 SL-75MRN-L

CPU: Barton XP 2500

RAM: (2X) CORSAIR MEMORY XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series 256MB 32MX8 PC-3200C2

Hard Drive: WD 120 GB Special Edition

CD-Burner: Lite-On 52x24x52 LTR52246S Retail

DVD-ROM: ARTEC DHM-G48 16/48X IDE RETAIL

Video Card: (Currently not in comp) Transcend SIS 315E 32MB SDRAM 4X AGP - RETAIL

A Sapphire ATI OEM RADEON 9500 128MB DDR BULK is on the way to my house

Monitor: Samtron 98BDF 19" Flatscreen

And Case: MAXTOP CSX-147K2F-GF-USB-GRAY (Mid-Tower)

Hopefully you don't need more info than that.

To properly clear the cmos you must disconnect the AC from the power supply, switch the jumper to the discharge position and wait up to one minute. You may also have to remove the cmos battery, but this would be unusual.

When I cleared my cmos before I got it, but maybe I didn't leave it on discharge long enough. I'll go and try it and then post the results. Thanks for the advice.

Edit: I tried it, no such luck, still won't boot up.

LOL, a video card is required for you to see if it works or not.
Since you have a Nforce 2 board, does it have onboard video(GF4MX)?
If so, use that, it's probably much faster than the AGP video card you have(until you get the Radeon 9500).

I've had the same thing happen to me once Jmail999 on an old iwill board. Upped the mults and poof... dead board. A month later i tried it out and it worked, albeit i had different proc.

Hmmm...maybe something went bad...try starting up with on the RAM, CPU, and video on the mobo. If it boots up fine, then one of your other devices is at fault. Just start adding them one by one until something goes wrong. This is the best method that works the best for me. It can be timely, but you'd probably find the faulty component faster that way. If it doesn't boot up normally with just the RAM, CPU, and video, then you've narrowed it down to one of those three, the motherboard, or possibly even the PSU. Try switching out each of those, one by one, to figure out which one is bad.

EDIT:
If this doesn't work, everything might be fine and it could possibly be your motherboard. However, try this...disconnect your PSU from the wall socket and switch it off, unplug everything from your motherboard(well, just the power, really, but I'd take out the IDE cables, too), set the CMOS jumper to reset and take out the battery. However, leave it that way overnight or throughout the day. Come back to it after a few hours and see if you can get it back up without the IDE cables connected. If that still doesn't work, then I'm at a loss.

same thing happened to me before
clearing CMOS didn't work for me.
but my MSI board has jumpers that I can change to set the FSB to defuallt 100mhz.
I lowered the FSB and it booted again, but in my case it was FSB that I set too high.

wait a sec, ImportPsycho, my mobo has a jumper like that too, its autodetect 100/133, or 166, im going to go try setting to autodetect mode.

BTW thanks for all the advice people

Edit: still Doesn't boot

Now its time to try Zoilo's way.

Edit: Won't boot with RAM, CPU and onboard video.

How do you take out the cmos battery?

There should be a piece of metal sticking up from a side of the battery. Pull that back tha the bettery should pop up. If it won't pop up you're going to have to try to get something small under it to help you lift it up. I just use my fingernails to get mine off because it won't pop up enough for me to grab it.
