Oh the joy. Another craptastic week of crunching here.

Returned from Charlotte today to a quiet house. Yes, that's strange for here since I have 5 PCs in the bedroom and 2 in the dining room. After searching through the Spy logs, it looks like they've been this way since last Monday shortly after I left.

Apparently, the rain that was falling when I left was the precursor to a nice big storm that knocked out power for a while. Still trying to determine how long it was off.

Normally, most of these machines will reset after loss of power thanks to the BIOS power options, but the surge protectors that those are plugged into had shut themselves off. That's about 6 GHz lost for the week. I guess I never set the two separate machines' power properties to reset, or else they don't have them.

If I believed in signs, I'd think I was meant to stop crunching. So many screw-ups lately. Fortunately I don't believe in signs.

I got tired of that after it happened a few times, so instead of adding another cruncher I added a 2000 volt amp rack mount ups to my old farm.

i'm sorry to hear that, my friend!! i knew that's something wrong /w u or ur farm by looking at the stats!!

'cos that happened to me before. lucky that only 'cos my a day's worth of crunching time.

like last Friday night. i stay at my GF's apartment. go to work Sat. morning, as usual, check my daily stats, 22WU for the past 24hrs?! and i thought, oh $hit, my farm is down!! power outage? and think, they should fire back up, most of them. then i thought, some of them crashed? shouldn't. and i started to caculating which rig + which rig = 22WU, so i know which machine is down.... and thinking of that all day until i got off, rush back home, and saw, oh, it's was my router! no any of my machines. it's my router wouldn't get connected to the net. and all of my machines still crunching. but i spent all night to fix the net problem and to upload all the WUs.

if i know ALL my farm r down for whole week (which pretty impossible since they r in 3 location. my GF's laptop, my sis's laptop & desktop, the rest is in my house) i WILL BE REALLY MAD!!!

sorry again for what happened to u. but hey, not even Berkeley's outage could stop us nor this team!!
