The goal here is to fit powerful decent-high capacity file server into a tiny Silverstone SG02.

The hardware:

Now I have had most of these components up and running for a few weeks now but I was on a stock intel HSF which was giving me idle temps around 48C. This was at stock volts and under load temps were getting hotter than I'd like. I had the H50 laying around so I decided to put it use. This case unfortunately is extremely crammed and has no 120mm fan holes which mean the saws are comming out ;).

Heres the mobo before:

And a few shots of our victim before the assault:

My plan and quick mock up to test for clearance issues the PSU:

and... Mounted and couple more mock ups to check for clearance:

Finally mounted to the motherboard and in the case:

Now I want this server to be quiet so I made several of my own 7v adapters as seen here:

Starting to come along now:

I originally had the third hdd mounted int he 5.25" bays but wanted to have enough clearance around the H50 for it to work its magic. Also wanted to be sure there was enough cool air getting into the case so I added some mesh 5.25" slot covers from another case I had. They happened to fit perfectly. Excuse the fingerprints:

Now I had to come up with a new place to mount this extra hdd so I drilled a couple of holes in the front chassis as you can see here near my fingers:

And viola hdd mounted:

And some final shots of the wire management and inside of case with all hardware installed:

All that is left now is to make a hole for the H50 to draw cool air from. Here is a few mockups of the plan. Hopefully will get it cut either later today or tomorrow. Plan to have the whole top repainted black as well since there are quite a few scratches. Sorry didnt get a shot of the top before I drilled the screw holes but I'm sure you get the idea:

Will post up final pics and temps when I'm done. Thanks for looking.

actually wasnt too bad, though your fighting the hoses the whole way since everything is so cramped.

Yeah, my only gripe with the h50 is that the hoses are very hard to manuver, they can go everywhere. I have the tubes of mine maneuvered to the upper side of the rad, they flow fine and temps are good. I hate the slushing noise those things can make on first boot or when you havnt used them in over a week. It scares the heebyjebbies out of me.

the hoses are stiff but its a good thing really. normal hose would crimp in many situations where the h50 hoses would be fine. the gurgling noise doesn't really bother me all that much and it doesn't last long.
