Shall I get the 13700k with the reported issue ?

I already bought the i7 13700k, gigabyte z790 motherboard and 32GB DDR5 RAMs.

It's on the way.

New parts will be twice the price, so these new upgrades should be very enough for me.

My next step is to get a good GPU upgrade from my current 1070 ti.

Heard on YouTube that rtx 2080 ti is a beast of a card with a good price.

I'd look for something newer than that... 3000 series at least... 3080 Super if you're 1080p... 3080Ti if higher. You can find them refurbed for $600 on Amazon.

Make a bigger jump... be it Nvidia, or AMD. ;)

Probably at the beginning of 2025, there will be new graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia, so soon RTX3000 will feel old. A used 3k series seems risky, because you may get one of the cards after mining as they were very popular. Getting one from a sale with a full warranty is maybe not a bad idea. For sure I wouldn't get any AMD because of pathetic efficiency, but that's me. Maybe someone else doesn't mind having a loud heater.

Btw. Arrow Lake will probably be released in a month. I highly doubt it will cost so much more than the 13/14th gen, as Intel needs money to cover losses and they will try to keep prices matching AMD or slightly under the Ryzen 9k series.

I have a question about the direction of the air cooler. Should it be with case rear front/rear fans or with the top fans to help cooling the gpu ?

front/sides = intake, top/rear = exhaust...generally....... so have it blow out the back for airFLOW.

You do not want the cooler pointing UP. Otherwise, it will suck the heat off the GPU. Clearly not ideal. ;)

Well, first of all, the ram should be in the 2nd and 4th slots (can confirm in your manual). That likely won't solve your issue but... let's get that right. :)

Second, can't you mount the fan higher on the fin stack? Those aren't tall RAM, so I'm pretty surprised to see such little clearance.

EDIT: Or mount the included fans middle and rear instead of front and middle...

How about this ? I had to lift the front one a little up to provide some space for the first RAM.

That should work great. The whole fan never fits over the whole heatsink anyways since they're not shaped exactly the same. As long as it doesn't block your side door you should be good (y) I would check the manual about the ram like earthdog said because dual channel is pretty much always in slots 2 and 4 but I guess it's possible for it to be different.

Maybe make sure the front fan isn't touching the ram. It probably doesn't matter but theoretically the vibration could cause....something over time....maybe? Probably not.

Looks fine...except the RAM is still in the wrong slots. ;)

It will work (and in dual channel in slots 1/3, but it tells you to put them in the other slots first. I wouldn't run them there for stability reasons.

Oh ... you're right.

I thought I'm going with alphabetical order as A1 should be the first one. I even didn't notice the note for the FIRST RAMs to put 😄

Can't find the bios file !

I formatted the usb drive both in FAT32 and NTFS. And also I connected the USB in the bios USB port but it's not showing up.

What brand/model is it? Not Sandisk (is that your M.2?)?

Did you put the BIOS file on the disk and does it show up in explorer on anything else? It's not in the dropdown? What file are you putting on it?

Ive put it in the USB drive. Should I put in any SATA drive ?

Does it read the USB stick and you're just not seeing the file???? Is the USB disk the Sandisk?

So you put the BIOS file on the USB stick...what file, exactly? It only reads BIOS files...

No, you do not need to put the BIOS file on another drive.
