I stealthed my CDRW drive today, and I redid my DVD stealth job today. Turned out pretty nicely, I need to order a new cover for the front because I scratched the DVD drive cover...but other than that, it looks pretty good IMO. I also removed my floppy, because it is useless.

Let me know what you think. I am in the process of a rheobus transplant, thats why the one that is installed is not in the right space, I am going to transplant the whole thing to a lian li front cover, on both of my rheobus'. The normal ones that are there have a horizontal grain, and it is much shinier than the lian li cases, so I want to make it look a lot cleaner than the sunbeam covers do.

What do you all think?

Peace out.....

How did you hook up the opening of the trays? did you make it so that you can push on the covers? or do you just open them through windows?

I put a small piece of velcro right where the button is, so i just tap on the corner, and it opens. works quite well, no problems with catching or anything. the whole thing is attached with velcro, turned out it was the perfect size, and its not going to be moving anytime soon, so the velcro works quite well.

I am going to go finish the rheobus bays.

You have inspired me. I just finished one of my drives, and am waiting for my silicone to dry so I can see if it will work. it seems to work, ut once I can open and close the drive ill post Pics.

Thanks for doing yours soI could se just how easy and Clean it looks. I just hope mine looks as good.

some updates....

I just got done with the first of two rheobus transplants, and it went pretty well. it really makes the front look smoother, and more together. I am going to do the 2nd probably tonight, or tomorrow, so I will have pics for that as soon as it is done.

Closeup on the new one.

Shot from above. I have no problems with weight on the rheobus, it does not sag or anything.

In this one you can see the differences between the two bay covers. Wow.

Finished product for now....

I will keep this updated for a while....

Thanks for the comments everyone.

thats sweet, i was so proud of myself, i guessed which slots the drives were in and i was right (even though you posted a pic that showed one in the 3rd spot and the top one was the only one not shown so the second one had to be there).

Updates #2

I will not be putting LED fans or CCFL fans in my case because I would not be able to turn off the LEDs, or turn off the CCFLs. I sleep in the same room as my comp, so I must be able to get rid of as much light as possible (which I can with my current parts)

ANYWAY. Here goes Update #2. I just finished the 2nd rheobus, and it turned out even better than the first one (generally how things go with modding). I will take some pics later of what I used for the process, basically some of the general dremel tools. fiberglass reinforced cutting discs, tiny ball cutter that looks like a drill bit, cone shaped drill, and a high grit sanding cone. Along with one of my brothers socks (clean of course) so that I did not scratch the surfaces, and of course a clamp and glasses (a must whenever using a dremel)

So here are the pics.

Here is from back a foot or so.

New and Improved Stealthy Front Panel.
stealth_rheobus16.JPG.png

AHH, ITS SO BRIGHT! This is with all of the rheostats on high (blue LEDs) along with my two new SVC cathodes on.

That is all for now. Once I get the new sleeving and heatshrink, I am going to redo some of the cables, but this is all I have for now.
