SOLVED Shopping for a 1600w PSU.

I have a folding/gaming/htpc machine that needs a new 1600w PSU. I'm thinking 80+ platinum?

What can you guys recommend?

On the short list is the EVGA supernova.

An Amazon brand of Super Flower is showing up but I don't know if they are any good.

Super Flower isn't an amazon brand, they've been around for a long time and are one of the underlying component/power supply makers that larger brands buy and re-badge, for what that's worth.

That's fair. Not an Amazon Basic. Are they any good? The EVGA is already half the price of others at $300 and the Super Flower is $250.

Superflower is all-around solid. I don't recall they have many (any?) duds. EVGA Supernovas, are also quite good. 1600W means two 600W GPUs.... Hrmmmmmmm...........

I went ahead and bought the Super Flower brand. $260 with tax. Will arrive next Friday. That'll give me time to clean the machine.

Nice! Sry I missed this, but I'm currently using a Super Flower. Solid unit. I remember this brand from back during the P4 days.

I got the 850w flavor. I'll bet you'll like that 1600, no doubt.

I'm pretty sure Super Flower is/was the OEM for some of EVGA's power supplies. They make very good products, so enjoy your new PSU.
